September 27, 2012 Greenstar Expands Carton Recycling to Six Markets

HOUSTON, TX (September 27, 2012) - Greenstar Recycling, a leading recycler in North America, has expanded its carton recycling program to include six markets. Communities across the country are continually pursuing ways to expand their recycling streams and divert waste from costly landfills. The inclusion of new items in local recycling streams decreases waste volumes, increases recycling volumes, and can even create revenue.


June 06, 2012 Greenstar Akron Grand Opening

Greenstar Recycling, a leading recycler in North America, Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic, and Summit County Executive Russ Pry announced today the opening of Greenstar’s newest single stream recycling facility in Akron that will serve customers in central and northeast Ohio. Single stream is a recycling innovation that allows participants to combine all recyclables into one bin, greatly increasing the convenience to participating households and businesses.

A new study by two of the nation's top consulting organizations that demonstrates Houston's impressive record at creating environmentally responsible "green jobs" helps spotlight the contributions of a rapidly growing recycling leader, Greenstar Recycling. The study by the Brookings Institution and Batelle found that Houston ranks in the top 10 among the nation's 100 largest cities for creating all "green jobs" and in the top 5 at recycling job creation.


June 24, 2011 Greenstar Recycling and Vadxx Energy Partner to Turn Recycled Plastics to Oil

Greenstar Recycling has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a joint venture (JV) with Vadxx Energy, LLC to convert recovered plastic into synthetic crude oil. Through this JV, Greenstar and Vadxx will work together to provide a domestic fuel, and benefit the environment by repurposing recovered plastic products.


April 11, 2011 TLU Launches New Recycling Program

Texas Lutheran University (TLU) will launch a new recycling program in partnership with Greenstar Recycling. Greenstar's educational trailer will help kick off the new program and allow the community to boost environmental sustainability efforts and awareness on campus.

Greenstar Recycling and Waste Pro USA announced today the completion of a strategic agreement in the Atlanta area.  Under the terms of the agreement, Waste Pro will receive recycling processing equipment and Greenstar will provide marketing of recovered commodities from Waste Pro's Atlanta Recycling facility.

The Houston Dynamo announced today that Greenstar Recycling is the new official jersey sponsor of the club. The agreement includes exclusive jersey naming rights, the first founding partnership in the new Dynamo stadium, and designation as the official recycling partner of the Dynamo.
