Plant Manager

As part of our Workforce Planning initiative, Greenstar North America is currently recruiting for five Plant Managers, each based at one of our Texas, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma or New Jersey sites.

Reporting to and in partnership with the General Manager, the Plant Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all plant departments, including production, maintenance, budgeting, inventory management, environmental, health & safety compliance, and all aspects of employee relations, engagement & training.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing leadership and direction, either personally or through subordinate Supervisors, to achieve all plant operating objectives in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining quality and continuous improvement
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal and external EH&S requirements
  • Monitoring plant activities and trends, including production processes and costs and maintaining records for productivity and efficiency
  • Overseeing quality control, using established standards and processes for meeting quality specifications for the materials market
  • Assisting in short- and long-range planning of company operational objectives, including the plant and related departmental budgets from development through cost control
  • Taking a leadership role in all phases of employee relations, engagement and training
  • Implementing Greenstar's production metric tracking and preventive/major maintenance policies and procedures as developed; facilitating modifications and construction enhancements on site as required
  • Actively participating and contributing to the strategy and goals of the organization as part of the management team

Qualifications of the Position Include:

  • A degree in mechanical, process or related engineering discipline, operations management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing/processing facility, focusing on quality production, heavy industrial maintenance, and all aspects of employee engagement
  • Working knowledge of EH&S regulations, programs, procedures, and policies
  • Self-starter, with a strong work ethic and proven track record of delivering on commitments
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain superior relationships within the plant as well as internal and external clients
  • Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office components Word and Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Comfortable in an industrial environment using 'hands-on' management approach
